IBM has provided a dual processor's OpenPower 710 server product in the UK, which is configured to run a Power5 processor running in 1.65GHz. The new server will fill the low-end market below the four-way instrument OpenPower 720 server launched last year.
If the message passed by the IBM's partner website is true, the OpenPower 710 server will be officially launched on January 31. IBM will come to Red Hat and Novell's executive supervisor as partners during the launch of the product, increase the status.
IBM has been launched to provide a Linux operating system as an alternative system for a period of time before the server running a Linux system. However, with the increasing popularity of Linux, I finally decided to launch the OpenPower series server. It should be noted that because of the use of different operating systems, the OpenPower server does not have all the features of the Standard Power Server (AIX system). But at the same time, the Linux system makes such a server price very low, allowing the product to be resistant to the Intel, AMD processor X86-64 architecture server, and other competitors' RISC servers.
From this news we see that IBM is close to the public, seeking breakthrough in the server field. Linux is also accepted and used by more and more people.
