Is there any doubt if there is a Web standard development?
If so, I have prepared some very striking evidence, especially some of the benefits of CSS design. I will show you a set of real data and show you a very obvious return on investment (Rio: returnon inventment) by using the Web standard.
I checked two (in terms of scope and delivery) invoices for website projects, and note their data. One of them was completed in 2001 and the other was completed at the end of 2003. I will show you the difference between two projects that spend time, energy and money, tell you the actual effect obtained using the Web Standard. That is very amazing.
Incident, I will also talk about a hospital project we have only completed recently. It doesn't say that it is finished, just want to say what is the real benefit of this project by using Web standard technology.

Obviously, this project is very simple, 56 pages spend 112 hours, from the beginning to the end, about 6 months. I have made a pen, but you are sure why I spent so long, it sounds not good.
Site production is quite conservative: tables, pictures and a small amount of CSS. Whenever the customer has a little change, it is often a lot of time to fix it.
As the project progresses, the menu changes, and the content needs to be done. In general, customers are the same, service small customers will not be easier than big customers. Because non-standardization is very troublesome, plus I also use CSS, I have to spend a lot of time to re-produced navigation pictures in Photoshop. I remember the form layout used at the time, it was simple when I was created, but it became more and more difficult to modify over time.
Before I start learning to use the Web standard, I have used it to develop websites with traditional conservative methods. Similar to the first project is very typical, in order to design better, don't know how many times to modify!
Project 2: 2003

This project is very similar to the first item in many ways. The website is basically static, there is a lot of modifications and adjustments. To be honest, this customer is very organized and responded to my Emai L very timely. But in general, customers with the first project are not very different. You can see that two projects on time, energy and cost are very different. The second project cost is less than $ 6,000, which only costs 32 hours, and the project period is no more than one month. The amount of the page is more than the first project.
The website is developed in Web standard. Once I do the template, the modification is very easy. I can centralize the time to adjust the content and interface, or adjust it separately. I don't want to emphasize how much changes have occurred.
Obviously, I have used less costs on this project. Moreover, with the first item spent the time, I can almost 12 similar to the second project, you can imagine how big more benefits to me. In doing so, I can save money and improve my own work cost assessment (more income).
Investment Report (ROI)
I think it is very clear now, and it is possible to save time and money using Web standard development. I must admit that learning and mastering new knowledge requires a process, especially when patching CSS to adapt to IE, increase project time, but even if it is worth it.
In order to further illustrate this point of view, I will talk about a hospital project we just finished. The benefits are not as obvious as the above items. This is a site that is serving a large number of people, we need to handle large amounts of existing legacy (very difficult). I also list some of the data from the project, but this case is not too the same as the first, and the second project is not too the same.

This project is expected to spend much longer than the actual completion. Because our web development team is between internal customers and external users. We need to design the details of the page, and we can't stop the daily maintenance of the content, we are very likely to make it.
Because I adopted the CSS construction site so that I can handle the content before the design is completed, and allow the site to continue. I spent a lot of "My Time" on this project, pay attention to "My Time" and "Web Development Time", if I spend more time in Web development, this project will not be so smoothly. .
Ideally, there should be more interaction communication with customers and users, but our web development team has to maintain project advancement in a bad situation. Development of CSS and Web Standards Let us do this. Finally, the biggest obstacles were overcome, we started to convert the original content. Frankly, we need a lot of time to do, but fortunately, the time is still more, and finally, the project is delivered before the final period.
Really, the project is not perfect, I have to wait for the design to be finalized. If it is not a powerful function of CSS to help reduce design and content changes, this project is likely to be extended, which will increase the cost of the hospital.
All work is only used in January, which is amazing in the hospital project I have already done. The WEB standard helps the project have had a positive impact on our processing methods.
