There are two ways to use pictures as a desktop wallpaper:
Desktop -> Properties -> Background, this will start Active Desktop, the Win2000 version of Win2000 will disappear in the lower right corner.
Another method is to right-click on the picture of IE -> Set as a background item, so that the version information in the lower right corner will not disappear, nor does Active Desktop.
