ATOM (also known as Feeds) is an XML-based file format that makes information to synchronize between its publishers and consumers. It makes a set of entries called Entry, each entry has a collection of expandable metadata. For example, each entry has a title.
The main use case of Atom is a synchronous web content, such as WebLog and news headlines, to other web sites or directly to consumers. However, it can also be used in other aspects.
A minimal, single entry atom feed is as follows:
