Freedom Software Foundation (FSF) was founded in 1985. It is committed to promoting computer users to use, learn, copy, modify, and re-distribute computer programs. FSF promotes the development and use of free software, especially the GNU operating system (now it is widely used is its GNU / Linux variant), as well as free documents.
Many organizations are distributing some free software already existing. In contrast, FSF focuses on the development of new free software and integrates those software into a consistent system. This will be eliminated to eliminate the requirements of the proprietary software.
In addition to software development, FSF is also protecting, maintaining, and promoting free software. The FSF distributes the copy of the GNU software to obtain the issuance fee and accept tax support for GNU development activities. Most of the funds of FSF come from its distribution service. This is what we hope that everyone can order CD-ROMs and manuals when they can.
