In the previous article, the author designs a simple method to detect a specific graphics device interface (GDI) object, which is not properly released by WIN32-based applications on the Windows 9x platform. Because some newer versions of Windows require a slightly different processing of GDI leaks, the author has updated his technology for these operating systems. He generates and explains two tools for detecting and eliminating GDI leaks in applications running on Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT.
