Lightweight Session Protocol (LPP) describes a method of providing streaming support for a TCP / IP network under certain limited conditions. LPP was originally coming from a CMIP protocol that was requested to run a TCP / IP network.
LPP is designed for a special type in the application, meaning that an application entity containing unique ACSE and ROSE. In addition, the application entity port can use DSE, but can only be limited to a certain range. LPP does not support an easy-to-extend application entity (for example, a unit containing a reliable transmission server).
If the user wants to run an ISO application on a TCP / IP-based network, you want to limit the TTOT mechanism. (Detailed in RFC2126).
