Because it is necessary to develop cross-network cooperation, the company decides to use CVS as a configuration library management tool. Since I didn't use CVS before, the company server used Window2003 system, so I started to find information.

After searching, decided to use CVSNT TORTOISECVS to be implemented.

From

Www.cvsnt.org under the latest version of CVSNT, the default is only 2.0.58, and other versions cannot be found.

From

SourceForge.net under the latest version of TortoiseCVS

Then I found a lot of related information from the Internet, I started to install it.

Among them, after several attempts. Still not working properly.

The next day, after I accidentally removed the port number, I was called success.

Now the configuration process is listed as follows:

CVSNT settings

1. Install CVSNT and restart

2. Open Service Control Panel

3. Set advabced-> temporary for any empty directory

Hook all options

Set the lock address to localhost, other options do not change

4. Add repositories

Click the Add button to select a ready-to-empty directory such as location = C: / cvsadmin; name = / cvsadmin

The system will prompt whether it is initialized, click OK

5. If the cvsservice or cvslock service is not started, please start them first.

Test Server 1. Start menu -Run-cmd, enter the command line environment

2. Enter CVS, there will be corresponding help, if there is no appearance, indicating that the PATH value in the environment variable is not set, you can manually set to your CVS.exe file.

3.SET CVSROOT =: SSPI: localhost: / cvsadmin

4. Enter CVS Version, display the current CVSNT version number

Client: Concurrent Versions System (CVSNT) 2.0.58A (Client / Server

Server: Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11.2 (Client / Server)

5.cvs login

Enter your Windows login password

6.CVS LS

Show So Module, at least there will be a cvsroot

7. If there is no error in the above steps, the CVSNT configuration is successful.

Add users 1. Use the cvs passwd command to add users and change your password

2. You can modify the PASSWD file under the C: / cvsadmin / cvsroot directory. If not, you can build one yourself.

Add TEST:, then add a password that is empty TEST user.

3. You can use it after adding users: pserver: test @ localhost: / cvsadmin login

TortoiseCVS settings 1. Installation

TortoiseCVS selection is completely installed

2. Restart your computer

3. Create a folder such as (C: / TEST), right click, create a new module, use the PServer protocol to enter the machine IP address and username (do not enter the port number, I can be deeply damaged),

Repositories folder for / cvsadmin

If there is no accident, a new module TEST is established.

4. Test the checkout function: Right-click Menu -> CVS-> Checkout Select a module name Test, if you don't know, you can use the function of getting a list.

5.ok, prompting CVS operation successfully, but we didn't see anything, it contained the output information, which contained Cannot Open CVS / Entries for Reading: No Such File or Directory, what does it mean? The module in the original CVS is empty When it can't get any entity, do not generate anything, the solution is simple, it is to add a file in the new module, and submit, and then test it. Sure enough, cvsadmin automatically generates us. Hey, this, you can give me harm. Write here first! I hope to be helpful.
